"Megalopolis" is an extremely finely detailed aquatint etching hand on 15 x 22" (38.1 x 55.88 cm) white Magnani Pescia paper, which is handmade in Italy. The etched lines were drawn with a fine diamond point. After laying down a rosen aquatint on the entire copper plate, several stages of stop out painting and etching provided rich shades all the way to a deep black. Subsequent hand painting with watercolor is consistent throughout the edition. Like all my other prints, this edition was printed by myself in my own workshop. It is an edition of only 50 prints.

A boatswain's chair is a small plank used to work at heights, such as in the riggings of a ship or by window washers. From such vantage points, one would have quite a view of sky or water, or both. "How Much I love You" was a multiyear project which involved sampling, a cut and paste of several sketchbook drawings and extreme experimentation with color and brushwork. Completed in 2010, this work reflects the magic and mystery of attractions of the heart. It speaks of a head over heals kind of interaction often experienced during courtship. Several layers of oil paint have been applied in many different ways, from bravura washes in the background to large brushstrokes, small dots, feathering and glazing.
